Franklin Lakes Reschedules Super Sunday 5K After Cold Snap

Franklin Lakes' annual "Super Sunday" 5K and 2K Pup Strut, originally scheduled for an earlier date, has been rescheduled to March 1st at 10:00 AM due to extreme cold conditions. The event will take place at the Franklin Lakes Community Center, located at 1 Vichiconti Way.

The Franklin Lakes Living Healthy organization postponed the race to ensure the safety of participants and their pets. The event welcomes runners, walkers, volunteers, and supporters, and will feature sponsor vendor booths and music by DJ Steve. Post-race wings will also be available.

The first 275 registered runners will receive a commemorative t-shirt and medal. Organizers emphasize that the race is focused on fun rather than competitive timing.

In other news, the Borough Calendar packets for 2026 have been mailed to residents and businesses. The packet includes the 2026 calendar, the annual recycling pamphlet, a Recreation and Parks Department flyer, recruitment flyers from the Fire Department and Ambulance Corps, and tax payment information. Residents who did not receive a calendar packet can request one by emailing calendar@franklinlakes.org or calling 201-891-4000, ext. 1200.

Also, the Environmental Commission reminds residents to test their well water annually, with more information available on their informational flyer.
