Teaneck Public Schools Finalize Preparations for the 2026-2027 Academic Year

Teaneck families and educators are finalizing preparations for the start of the 2026-2027 school year, following the Board of Education's official approval of the district calendar on August 19. With the opening bell scheduled for next Thursday, local elementary schools are launching targeted transition programs to welcome their youngest students. Hawthorne Elementary School has scheduled meet-and-greets alongside school supply drop-offs next Wednesday, specifically designed for incoming kindergarten and first-grade families. Bryant Elementary School, which serves the district's early childhood population, will host its own meet-and-greet sessions on the same day to help ease the transition into the new school year. Administrative and instructional preparations are already underway across the district's facilities. Ten-month staff members are scheduled to return next Tuesday to participate in professional development, coordinate curriculum alignments, and complete classroom setups.
