Westwood is currently experiencing a transition in how it disseminates public information and enjoys its leisure time. Residents should take note of impending changes to legal notice dissemination, while also anticipating new additions to the local dining scene.
The Borough of Westwood is transitioning the publication of all legal and public notices to its official website, westwoodnj.gov. According to official borough announcements, this shift, pursuant to New Jersey P.L. 2025, c. 72, began in late 2025, with a transition period that extends until January 31, 2026. Residents can expect to find all official notices online going forward, as the publication of notices in The Record Newspaper has ceased. An advertisement campaign ran in online news publications to inform the public of this change. The Historic Commission Hearing for the 1 Westwood Avenue Historic Designation took place on December 18th, 2025, at the Westwood Borough Hall.
Westwood's dining scene continues to evolve. Granita Grille, located on 467 Broadway, was recognized as a Neighborhood Fave in Nextdoor’s 2023 Local Business Awards and has received the People Love Us On Yelp Award for 2024. This Italian restaurant is known for its welcoming atmosphere and its popular dipping sauce. Meanwhile, Gia Giudice, daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, is planning to open an Italian restaurant, Il Vero, in Westwood this spring, in partnership with Maria Sausa.
These changes reflect the ongoing evolution of Westwood, blending tradition with new approaches to community engagement and leisure.
